A LETTER FROM OUR NEW PRESIDENT
Dear Lakeland Players Community Theatre Group,
As most have likely heard, our production of Evita, scheduled for January 2014 has been cancelled due to not receiving production rights as a result of an oversight with the licensing contracts and the recent tour. Subsequent problems also materialized while trying to secure the rights to the replacement show of Once Upon a Mattress. Consequently, it has also been cancelled, due in part to the limited time frame to produce a quality show.
At this time, due to the resulting issues with Evita, the Lakeland Players (LP) Board has accepted Paul Stark's resignation as President. Ken Simpson, as VP of the group, has stepped up and is our Interim President. Subsequently, we have had three other members of the 2013-14 Board resign and the LP Board accepted their resignations, as well. The LP Board would like to thank those members for their services to the group. For the remainder of this season, the following four dedicated individuals of the Lakeland Players membership have accepted appointments to the Board of Directors for the remaining balance of the term: Edmund Senkowski, Cheryl Miller, Bonnie Swope, and William Graham.
We appreciate your continued support during this transitional time in helping us to present quality Community Theater to Waterford and its surrounding areas.
Under the direction of Board member, Craig Dane, his talented cast will be presenting Rope, a murder mystery, as a dinner theater in conjunction with the Lafayette Grande located in downtown, Pontiac this coming February 2014.
Sincerely,
Ken Simpson
Interim President
